221A Fellow Report
In my final fellowship presentation I unfurled a narrative account of an extensive investigation involving archival research, forensic accounting, travel journaling, correspondence and interviews with Loring and Wyle’s friends, family and colleagues namely Frances Gage, sculptor and executor of the Loring and Wyle Estate and Rebecca Sisler, sculptor and author of The Girls, a biography of Loring and Wyle, ultimately tracing the dispersion of their estate as it was passed between the hands of friends, dubious collectors and dealers, underfunded institutions, a notorious Toronto family, and finally to Art Gallery of Ontario where the collection and fonds live today.
